Keep the Wreath Red

This holiday season, LFRA is proud to take part in the Keep the Wreath Red fire safety campaign. You’ll see red-lit wreaths hanging at all of our stations as a reminder to decorate safely. If a fire caused by holiday decorations occurs, a red bulb is replaced with a white one — a visual reminder of the importance of fire prevention.

To help keep the wreath red:

🔴 Water your tree regularly
🔴 Keep decorations away from heat sources
🔴 Don’t overload electrical cords
🔴 Use UL-rated lights
🔴 Never leave lit candles unattended

Let’s work together to keep the wreath — and our community — safe and red all season long! ❤️

Official Inclusion Election Results

On behalf of Chief Sendelbach and Loveland Rural Fire Protection District Board of Directors, we extend our sincere appreciation to the residents of Buckskin Heights, Fletcher Hill, Pinewood, and Storm Mountain for your trust and support in electing to join the LFRA service area. We are honored to welcome you into the LFRA family, which now proudly encompasses 248 square miles and a population of more than 110,000.

We also wish to recognize Assistant Chief Tim Smith, Lieutenant Matt DeDecker, GIS Specialist Ben Butterfield, Micki Mills, and our Executive Staff. Your commitment, professionalism, and dedication were instrumental in making this achievement possible. Thank you for a job exceptionally well done.

LFRA Completes Dementia Training Earning the "Dementia Friendly" Designation

We’re pleased to share that LFRA has undergone training with the Dementia Together, and over 80% of our staff is now trained, earning us the "Dementia Friendly" designation.

100 Years of Firefighting History!

Check out this 1925 American LaFrance fire engine – a true legend of its time. 💯 At a century old, this chain-driven beauty could pump 750 gallons per minute, carried its own chemical tank, and featured a large hose bed to battle the toughest blazes.
Engines like this paved the way for the modern rigs we see today. A rolling reminder of craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication to protecting communities. 
✨ Featured here in an illustration by Jonathan Beistline Illustrations, showcasing our 100-year-old engine in front of the iconic Rialto Theater in downtown Loveland.
🚒 The engine is fully restored and maintained by Loveland Fire Exhibit Inc. and proudly housed at Fire Station 1 on 5th Street.

LFRA's New Training Prop

We're thrilled to announce that a new training prop, designed to make our fire/rescue training "a cut above," is almost complete! This state-of-the-art training building will equip our firefighters to tackle the unique challenges posed by the hundreds of multi-family and commercial structures in our response district.

This new addition will replace our decades-old two-story smoke house and will complement our existing residential burn building, ensuring our team is prepared for any situation.

This project is directly attributed to the funding from the citizens of the Loveland Rural Fire Protection District. We are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us build a safer community!
