Tuesday morning is the target date for flushing the downtown fire hydrants. Flushing will begin at approximately 3:00 a.m. and will be completed by 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The flushing is done to maintain the condition of the water mains and water quality. Discolored water may occur due to the disruption of hard water sediment that is disturbed when a high volume of water is moved through the water mains. The sediment will settle when the water volume returns to normal. You may notice some discoloration Tuesday morning; however, this is a temporary condition. Do not wash laundry if the water is discolored as it may cause staining to garments. If this does happen DO NOT dry the laundry, drying will set the stains. Call 962-3720 or 962-3721 and we will deliver a laundry detergent that will remove the stains from the laundry.
