Loveland Fire Training Center

Loveland Fire Training CenterThe Fire Training Facility is located at 1040 Emergency Drive in central Loveland. The facility includes a burning building for live structural fire evolutions, a five-story tower for high-rise training, a two-story smokehouse for basic skills training, and a large building collapse rubble pile that simulations heavy or technical rescue situations. Other live fire props include propane (flammable gas) fires, vehicle fires, flashover/fire behavior simulators, and a positive pressure fire attack building. The classroom facilities include a large room that can hold up to 60 people and a smaller room designed for classes of approximately 18 students. Colorado's first virtual reality command training center also resides on the property, making LFRA the State Regional training site for the Hazard Zone Management System. These classrooms are supplemented by training rooms at Fire Station 1 and Fire Station 6 that are used for company-level training classes. In 2015, LFRA purchased the property adjacent to the current training facility. This added 4 acres for future expansion. It also contains a large storage facility, Shop, and office building. A rail spur also resides on the property allowing us to partner with Burlington Northern and bring in rail car training props not available to other organizations.
